The meeting was inspired by a reflection on the future of our society initiated by Vittorio Emanuele Falsitta with his paper "On the Technology that conceives capitalism" presented at the conference "Technical Thinking and Capitalism. Reflections on a complicated relationship", held at the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences on 28 September 2023.
During the seminar on 6 March 2024, a multidisciplinary group of experts discussed the potential of a technological ecosystem in which Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality can interact in order to bring about a positive, potentially epoch-making change in the management and custody of digital assets owned by citizens. The debate was prompted by the initial report by Manuél Mister from BAAKO, who shared his direct experiences of applied research and innovation in the Web3 field and proposed a broad overview of the potential of new technologies to ensure the full respect, recognition and protection of our personal digital assets and data.
In addition to Vittorio Emanuele Falsitta, the seminar was also attended by Nicola Chighine (Newton SpA), Francesco Amigoni (Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Politecnico di Milano), Alessandro Saccoia (IULM University) Christian Miccoli and Raimondo Galli (Conio), Fabrizio Tonelli and Franco Cimatti (Decentra), who provided a useful and worthwhile opportunity to share knowledge and visions of the future with their enlightening contributions.
Special thanks go to Fabian Vogelsteller, blockchain veteran and creator of the ERC-20 and ERC-725 standards. In a dedicated video talk, he explained his vision of the topics covered in the seminar, and the potential of the new blockchain Lukso, co-founded by him.
